Marty Taylor, creator of Papa Taiao Earthcare, approached us about designing him a beautiful website to help promote his unique and life-changing course offerings to schools around New Zealand. Marty’s programmes bring a community centered approach to conservation, allowing students to gain real-world experience and NCEA credits while saving the natural world in their own local community.
What Papa Taiao needed was a simple CMS system that would be flexible, easy to edit, and quickly enable them to share their programme calendar and news with schools, students, and contributors. We took Marty’s exceptionally beautiful photography and put it to work on a Squarespace site, providing him with a custom set of iconography to represent his four course types, and kitted the theme out to fit his needs.
What he ended up with was a brilliantly visual website that put his photos front and centre, showing off the faces and feelings of students who take part in Papa Taiao’s programmes.
